The way we seek permission to enter or visit a persons house has been taught to us by our beloved Prophet - Sallallahu alaye wa salam.
This lecture is pivoted around a hadith of the prophet - Sallallahu alayhe wa salam - explaininig the mannerism of visiting a persons house, which is to knock three times and if no one responds, then to leave.
It is a matter which was unknown to Umar - Radiallahu anhu - who demanded evidence from the sahabi, Abu Musa al Ash'ari as to why he left after knocking thrice.
