You may have heard or even asked the question: "Why doesn't Allah answer my prayers?" Such a question is usually raised in times of hardship and calamity. The answer to it cannot be expected from any human being, but it comes from Allah, the most Glorified, Himself in His saying: "For indeed, with hardship there is ease." (94:5) Thus, sincere believers should not worry when they are tested by Allah (swt), nor should they lose their patience and hope. Instead, they need to revive trust in Allah's promise "And whoever relies upon Allah, then He is sufficient for him." (65:3)
In addition to the wisdom of the above two verses, every reasonable person realizes that life is a combination of failure and success, loss and profit, ups and downs. So whoever suffers a shortcoming one day, he may find his "silver lining" and enjoy well-being on another day.
